Everybody has
a story.

I’ve been telling people’s stories one way or another since 1975.

As a feature reporter for Turner Broadcasting, ESPN, Fox Sports and others, I've spent time on both sides of the camera. I’ve produced videos in Afghanistan, Rwanda, Morocco––all over the world, really––hosted an international golf show, and anchored broadcasts in studios from local markets to TBS and CNBC. You may have even seen me on your favorite TV show or movie. Perhaps you saw me on screen and said, "Oh, that guy!"

Ryden Original Productions is the sum of all these experiences and more. And if you have a story you'd like to tell, I'd love to help you tell it. Don't hesitate to reach out through the contact form.

Video production

Having shot my own film since my first job in Green Bay, Wisconsin; having written my own copy since forever; and having edited by literally gluing film together before becoming a non-linear editor…I was well-positioned to tell the stories of mission agencies and NGO’s the world over. That’s why I started Ryden Original Productions in 2005. That passion has sent me to Bosnia, Burundi, Macedonia, Mexico, Tanzania, to name just a few exotic locales. My passport is up to date and I’m always ready to hit the road.

Magazine articles

Mom always thought I should be a writer. I had to tell her repeatedly: “Mom, I AM a writer. I write for TV.” That’s an art, for sure. And virtually every time I’ve been on camera telling someone’s story, I’m the one who’s written it. But Mom is also happy to know that I also write for print. Here are some samples of magazine articles I’ve written. I’m also working on a book. But don’t tell anyone; it’s a secret

Acting

What started as a lark when I played the Man in the Moon as a 6thgrader to rave reviews––well, my mom and dad liked it––turned out to be part of how I make a living. Having been a TV reporter for a couple decades, it makes sense that I was often cast as a reporter or anchor. But I’ve done so much more.

Fiction

My imagination has always run wild so there are times when I just have to tell a fictional story. A friend of mine used to provide a group of us with writing prompts and each month I was inspired to write a story that started with a simple sentence supplied by my friend, Cheryl. I’ve highlighted the prompts to demonstrate just how far outside the box one man can live. In other cases, I've just gone it alone and let my imagination take me where it would.

The archive

If I’ve appeared on camera, there’s a real good chance I have a copy of it. It drives my wife nuts, my having hauled this ancient stuff around for the entirety of our marriage. But from time to time it’s allowed me to resurrect the old stuff and tie it into something happening today.

Contact

If you want to hire me to do any of the stuff listed here, I’m a phone call, email, or text away.

paul@paulryden.com or (678) 777-7285 (It’s actually 678-777-PAUL. Really.  But I don’t usually give that out. Too cheesy.)

Or if you just want to chat about baseball, presidential birthdays (I memorized them all during the pandemic), or life in general, I do that too.
